My Mindfulness and Soft Tissue Journey
Early Career
My soft tissue practice began in 2007 with a Certificate IV in Relaxation Massage, Shiatsu, and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Through these early foundations, I was introduced to Eastern philosophies, where mindfulness, awareness, and the mind-body connection were already part of the conversation.
While these traditions opened the door, it was science that gave me the framework I was looking for and eventually led me into myotherapy.
Over time, my learning has been shaped by training and working alongside osteopaths, physiotherapists, exercise physiologists, scientists, and movement-based practitioners.
My Mentors
From early in my career, fascia became one of the main ways I understood and treated the body. I have had the privilege of training with Tom Myers and Robert Schleip.
My clinical thinking has also been shaped by international manual therapy educators, including Eric Dalton, Whitney Lowe, and Ben Benjamin.
Rob Granter continues to shape the way many of us think as practitioners through his ongoing education programs and contribution to the manual therapy field.
During my teaching years at Victoria University, I also had the opportunity to teach alongside Stuart Hinds, a respected practitioner and educator in the soft tissue field.
My broader learning has also been shaped by Physiotherapists, Exercise scientists, Exercise physiologists, Osteopaths and movement-based therapists & teachers.
